What kind of drawing we need for plastic prototype manufacturing?

For CNC machining prototyping process, we need X_T, IGES, STEP, Solidworks, UG or CATIA format 3D drawing to make the CNC machining prototype. If it is simple plastic prototype, we can accept the 2D drawing to manufacture plastic prototype with CNC machining as we can transfer the 2D drawing to 3D drawing by ourselves.

Regarding the plastic casting process, we can accept the STL , X_T, IGES, STEP, Solidworks, UG or CATIA format 3D drawing

With regard to SLA prototyping, we we can accept the STL , X_T, IGES, STEP, Solidworks, UG or CATIA format 3D drawing. 

Why we can not accept STL drawing to manufacture CNC machining prototype due to we should use CNC machine to manufacture plastic prototype and we should use the solid model to programme CNC machining.

Why we can accept the STL drawing format to make the plastic casting prototype as on plastic casting prototyping process, we can copy the first samples by SLA process to make the silicone mold to cast plastic prototype. Please kindly noted for the mother prototype of plastic casting, we can also use the CNC machining process to make.

 What we should get for plastic prototype manufacturing?

As above, we should get the 3D drawing. Also if it is possible, you had better to offer the 2D drawing, then we can control the dimensions. You can also let us know the function and specification of the plastic prototype, this will be useful for us to control the plastic prototype quality and choose the correct plastic prototype manufacturing process.

You should also let us know the surface finishing such as sand blast, fine texture, color, painting and silk-screen printing etc.

What is the lead time for plastic prototype manufacturing?

Generally we need from 1 to 5days for the plastic prototype manufacturing based on your quantities and plastic prototype structure as well as surface finishing.
